TENNIS COURTS


  • Courts are open daily from 9:00 a.m. until dark (supervision from 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.) With proper notice, the hours of play and the scheduling of lessons can be extended beyond the hours of 9:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m.

  • Under normal circumstances play is for 60 minutes at a time. In order to accommodate higher demands, the Head Tennis Professional may limit play to 30 minutes during those peak times.

  • The courts will be closed for maintenance for a period of 45 minutes from 12:30 p.m. to 1:15 p.m. or from 1:15 p.m. to 2:00 p.m.

  • All times shall be determined by the clocks at the tennis court.

Appropriate tennis attire and tennis shoes are to be worn on the courts at all times. Shirts must remain ON.

    Reservation on Weekdays
  • Members may reserve courts in advance of play on weekdays. Three courts will be available for advance reservations on weekdays. Two courts will operate on an open basis in the same manner as the weekend operation of the courts as outlined below. If not required for lessons, the pro-court will be available for play.

  • The following rules apply to advance court reservations:

    • A member shall be permitted to reserve 7 days in advance, no more than one singles court and one doubles court, or two doubles courts for any one week period from Monday to Friday exclusive. The member must give the name of each partner, opponent or guest at the time of booking.
    • Having played at his/her reserved time, the member may reserve another court or courts as the case may be, during that week, so long as no more than two bookings are held at any time.
    • Members who have reserved a court and fail to attend within 10 minutes after the time for which it was reserved, shall forfeit their reservation and the court may then be used by other members.
    Reservations on Saturdays, Sundays and Holidays
  • On Saturdays, Sundays and Holidays, three courts can be reserved in advance and two courts will function on an open basis.

  • The following rules apply to court booking on an open basis:

    • Bookings will be on a “first come first serve” basis and must be made in person at the courts.
    • After a member has played, he or she is entitled to book the next available court.
    • Whenever courts are fully in use and there are members waiting to play, the “Doubles Only” sign will be put up and members must then play doubles with other members, if requested to do so by the professional staff. Courts that are “advanced” booked will be exempted from doubling up. Doubling up will only be imposed within 5 minutes of play.
    • Members who have booked a court and fail to attend within 10 minutes after the time for which it was reserved, shall forfeit their reservation and the court may then be used by other members.
  • A court may be reserved in advance no earlier than the Thursday preceding the weekend or a Holiday. A member may reserve only one court per weekend or Holiday. The court can be either a singles or doubles court.

  • The member must give the name of each partner, opponent or guest. If all names are not given then the court cannot be booked.

  • After a member has played, he or she is entitled to book the next available court.

  • Members who have booked a court and fail to attend within 10 minutes of the time for which it was booked, shall forfeit their reservation and the court can be used by other members.
  • Members 13 years of age and older may introduce guests and must register guests at the courts. Members will be charged a $10 guest fee for the use of the courts.
  • City guests and non-resident guests may play no more than twice in a calendar month and not more than eight times a year, whether introduced by the same or another member.
  • City guests may be introduced to play on Saturdays, Sundays or Holidays after 4 p.m. A guest must play with the member who introduced him/her.

  • JUNIOR AGES 13 TO 18


  • Junior Members – Ages 13 to 18 inclusive

  • Junior members have unrestricted use of the courts during weekdays.

  • On Saturdays, Sundays, and Holidays, Junior members may book courts and play prior to 9:00 a.m. and after 5:00 p.m. In addition, during May and June, two courts will be available for the use of Junior members from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

  • Junior members may play during times otherwise restricted to them if a court is not in use and permission is obtained from the professional staff.

  • Juvenile Members - 10 to 12 Years and Sub-Juvenile Members Ages 7 to 9


  • Sub-juvenile Juvenile members have the use of the courts during the weekdays from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. inclusive.

  • On Saturdays, Sundays, and Holidays, juvenile members may book courts and play prior to 9:00 a.m. and after 5:00 p.m.

  • Sub-juvenile and Juvenile members may play during times otherwise restricted to them if a court is not in use and permission is obtained from the professional staff.

  • Children of ages 5 and 6 may participate in dedicated tennis programs and use the tennis facilities on the same basis as sub-juvenile members as long as parental supervision is present.
  • Lessons are available from the professional staff at established rates.

  • Play with either the Professional or Assistant Professional is considered a lesson and will be charged accordingly.

  • A member may hold a reservation for only two lessons at any one time.

  • Tennis lesson may be grated to a guest of a member on weekdays at the discretion of the professional staff. The member must remain with his/her guest during the lesson. The lesson fee will be charged to the member’s account.

  • A reservation of a tennis court must be canceled at least 24 hours before the time for which it was reserved.

  • A tennis lesson must be cancelled at least 24 hours before the time for which it was scheduled, failing which the member will be charged the full cost of the lesson.

  • A special event must be cancelled at least 48 hours before the time for which it was scheduled, failing which the full fee will be charged.
  • Members are expected to exhibit good manners and to show courtesy to each other at all times on and off the court.

  • In particular:

    • Profane and abusive language will not be tolerated.
    • Players need to clear courts immediately after the prescribed playing time.
    • Players must avoid walking across a court that is in use.
    • When using courts 2, 4, 5, and the pro-court, players must enter and exit by the appropriate gate.
    • Players must wait until the rally is over before walking behind a court, then walk quickly and quietly.
    • Players should not walk on an adjacent court to retrieve a ball.
    • Towels and garbage must be placed in appropriate receptacles.
